POLITICS The Texas Governor Is A Typical Instance Of Any Republican’s Anti-Life Coverage

Texas is a warning to America that GOP guidelines could have deadly consequences

Whether it’s promoting anti-polluting measures that poison the air and water, opposing mitigation measures to save lives during a deadly pandemic, or protecting violent right-wing extremists from prosecution; Republicans can hardly claim they are for life. It is true that they are pro-zygote, but they are in no way pro-life.

With the exception of a few Republican governors, most of those who allied with terrorist-backing Trump to fake COVID19 were nothing to worry about returning to the early stages of the pandemic.

As of Friday, around 524,000 Americans had succumbed to the virus. Trump went to extremes to downplay as there was nothing to worry about. While it is true that the death rate appears to be on a plateau nationwide and in many cases is falling, there are still regions where the infection rate has increased. Texas is one of those regions. In the past two weeks, COVID19 cases in Texas have increased by five percent.

Despite the increase in cases and instead of advocating for the lives of Texas residents, Republican Governor Gregg Abbot defied medical science, saying:

“Too many Texans have been excluded from employment opportunities. Too many small business owners struggle to pay their bills. This has to end. It is now time to open Texas to 100%. “

When Abbot said, “Texas Open 100%,” he meant the end of the state’s mask mandate, allowing all businesses to open up as if there was no deadly and virulent pandemic in Texas and the nation. According to Abbot, Texans “have mastered daily habits to avoid COVID19,” and 5.7 million doses of the COVID19 vaccine have been given. Sounds impressive, doesn’t it? Not so fast.

Despite those 5.7 million doses, less than 7% of Texans are “fully vaccinated” and are still at risk of contracting the virus and spreading it.

The Fort Worth Star Telegram editorial team “blew up” Abbot after his announcement. They asked the prescient questions even though they were aware of the answer. Partially. The editors asked:

“Why now? Why does the risk increase when the news of cases, hospitalizations, and vaccine manufacturing is so good? With the spring break and the associated trips and activities around the corner, why are you sending the message that we can abandon our watch?

It is unfortunate that the governor cannot show the patience that most citizens have. Instead, he decided to make more illness and death more likely once the finish line is in sight. “

Abbott’s motivation is no secret. Aside from caring about the health or lives of Texas residents, he is up for re-election in 2022. And in the back of your mind, the possibility of a Republican presidential nomination in 2024 looks extremely attractive.

Abbot has taken heat away from the stupid wing of the Texas Republican movement who are religiously loyal to the terrible Trump and, like many rabid Trump acolytes, view a scientifically proven mitigation measure like wearing a mask as an “assault on their personal freedom.” They know that saving lives is definitely not a public health measure.

Saving lives is as distant to Abbott as earth is from the sun, despite a terrible lesson Texans faced last spring and early summer. In many Republican-controlled states, Republican governors dropped or ignored rigid stay-at-home orders and other mitigation measures specifically put in place to contain the spread of Covid-19, as their respective states do not have large numbers of cases like New York and California existed. The result was exactly what health experts had predicted. COVID cases, hospitalizations and deaths increased. In Texas, more than 44,000 residents died from the virus; only California and New York died altogether.

With an upcoming election and rising COVID cases, Abbot concluded, “Damn the health professionals’ warnings,” and their freedom to steal mitigation efforts – Texas is 100% open, and if more Texans die, so be it.

Abbot’s actions are typical of Republicans who are more concerned about their own political futures than about the lives of their constituents. When an ungodly number of Americans are gunned down as if they are in a war zone instead of decent gun control regulations, Republicans want more guns on the streets. When the water and air vital to human life are toxic due to industrial dumping, Republicans are deregulating industries that tend to poison the air and water and leaving people to die. If every state in the union decides to share power to provide consumers with stable electricity, no way is Texas saying – let people die.

Now that there is finally hope that this deadly pandemic can be mitigated so life can return to normal, Texas Governor Gregg Abbot disregards medical scientific warnings and opens up Texas for political power to a human is more important than human life. called pro-life Republican governor.

3 Tips For Catching More Trout In The Spring Season

By [https://EzineArticles.com/expert/Trevor_Kugler/38856]Trevor Kugler

The spring of the year means a lot of things to a lot of different people, but one group of people that really get excited as the spring season gets underway are fishermen. While all fishermen begin to get a little "antsy" during the spring as they think about heading out onto the water, nowhere is this more true than with trout fishermen. The spring season is the holy grail to many trout fishermen and with good reason as the spring coincides with the beginning of trout season in many areas of the United States.

Below I will draw upon my twenty plus years of experience fishing for trout to outline 3 tips for catching more trout in the spring season. Although the tips themselves are being listed in no particular order, I have found all of them to be extremely effective when fishing for trout, especially during the spring of the year.

A Longer Fishing Rod Is In Order - Many trout fishermen tend not to think much about the length of their fishing rod and this is a big mistake. The reason that this is a mistake is that during the spring of the year you are normally dealing with water conditions that are higher than normal in both lakes and rivers and a longer fishing rod will give you much more "feel" when detecting bites, setting the hook, and fighting trout. This fact is especially true in river fishing scenarios where drift fishing is the technique of choice. Under "normal" river and water conditions you more than likely employ a four to five foot ultralight rod while fishing for trout and during the spring season an ultralight rod that is from six to seven feet is in order.

Smaller Baits Are In Order - No matter what type of trout bait you choose to use for trout during the spring many times smaller is better. So spinners should be in the 1/32 ounce range, spoons should be no larger than 1/4 of an ounce, and any trout jigs should be as small as you can get away with. If you are using live bait or eggs as trout bait, make sure that you employ very small fishing hooks. An example of this rule would be with our friends live worms. During the spring never use an entire night crawler as bait, but rather pinch the night crawler in half or opt instead to use the night crawlers smaller cousin the red worm as your [http://www.jrwfishing.com/gang_hooks.asp]trout bait choice.

Use The Correct Fly - There is no doubt that when you talk about trout fishing or trout bait you have to mention the use of artificial flies as bait and choosing the correct fly is vitally important during the spring trout season. Whether you are a traditional fly fisherman or are a spin fisherman who uses a casting bubble to fish with artificial flies there are certain fly choices that you need to have at the ready early in the trout season. These flies would include woolly buggers, the freshwater clouser, an egg pattern or two, Adams, blue winged olive parachutes, and a couple of pheasant tail nymphs.

Keep these simple trout fishing tips in mind this spring as you head out on your next trout fishing excursion and you will surely experience more success on the water.

In Praise of Age and Biden

In Praise of Age and Biden

By [https://EzineArticles.com/expert/Helen_Fogarassy/247052]Helen Fogarassy

Youth is the beautiful springtime of life, full of energy and eagerness. Age in America today is seen as a handicap, full of aches and in need of help. The image of George H Bush skydiving for his 90th birthday is drowned out by ads about elders in need of home care. In that arena, Joe Biden is scrutinized for defects. Those pale in comparison to his value at this moment as a man experienced in governing the US.

Democratic presidential candidate challengers to Trump have a trove of great ideas on how to remedy the damage Trump is inflicting on the country. Those range from Constitutional infractions to human rights abuses and the standing of the US in the world community. Add to that list his abuse of his presidential powers, his assault on the environment and the erosion of public trust due to lies emanating from the American White House. indeed, the democrats have a large menu of urgent issues to address, but none stand a chance if Trump can't be undone.

Current US President Donald Trump lies openly and claims the deceit is a negotiating tactic. A third of the country buys the Trump side of the double talk. The other two-thirds fumes over how so many can be so gullible. It takes a person who's been burned a few times to spot the spot the trick and know how to use it.

Circus maven P.T Barnum reputedly said back in the mid-1800's that there's a sucker born every minute. He made his mark by exhibiting trumped up freaks and getting the curious to pay for seeing them. America's current President conducts similar oddities in the form of skirting laws and norms. The American public pays big to let a third of its people admire the legal gymnastics.

The world's melting pot and land of opportunity makes room for the vulnerable one-third in its population that buys the Trump twist on American values. The toll, however, is heavy for the two-thirds who care about the American foundation of democracy. All they need is a leader who can show the way based on instinct I informed through experience.

Joe Biden has come under attack for positions taken 10, 20, 30 years ago. He is held to account for comments that ring alarms and for being tone deaf, out of step with today. Actually, it is the perception that is out of touch with reality.

Today's media world is fast paced. That is the condition that put reality star conman Donald Trump into the Oval Office. His experience told him that he could bluff his way into any situation he wanted. He did just that, even if he had to con his way to that position and use outside sources to get the job done.

Joe Biden, on the other hand, is a person of experience with higher aspirations than enriching himself. He went through the excruciating period in America's past when racial desegregation was uncertain ideal. He fought for social gains within constraints of the times while Donald Trump was scheming to get the best pf his next mark.

Donald Trump hasn't changed and neither has Joe Biden. Trump is still ripping off as many Americans as possible. Joe Biden wants to stop him and get American moving again as he did under the progressive era of Barack Obama.

In his lofty position, Trump has no trouble spewing out incendiary lies to stir his audience. He has a host of schills to help sell the story. Joe Biden has a lifetime of experience in promoting the public good in opposition to those like Trump. He merits a break in the media microscope of today.

Experience lays down a vast infrastructure of information in the brain. Those lay the foundation for spoken expressions in the present. Sn answer to a question may take a moment to process. That is far less than the week of media coverage given to the monster hurricane Damian.

That disaster impacts thousands of lives and communities. The response of US President Donald Trump was to play a "short round of golf." Considering that the Damian disaster was his excuse for skipping out on an international responsibility, no further words need be processed from thoughts.

Biden doesn't need a week to process thoughts and produce potent words. He does, however, deserve s few seconds for the process. After all, whether it's Joe Biden or some other democratic candidate with experience under the belt, the goal is to defeat a man in the Oval Office who doesn't take even a second to process a thought into words that can sink the whole world..

<p>Welcome President Biden! Long Live Democracy!<br>

By <a href="https://EzineArticles.com/expert/Chinmay_Chakravarty/65801">Chinmay Chakravarty</a></p>

<p>Joseph R Biden or popularly known as Joe Biden, the 46th President of the United States of America, was sworn in a modest inauguration event on the 20th of January 2021 held in the premises of Capitol Hill which was invaded by Trump supporters two weeks back. At 78, he is the oldest ever President of the country to be sworn in: however, his arrival at this juncture is seen by many as momentous and much-needed in view of the aftermath of Trumpism.</p><p>Not surprisingly, considering the bitterly divided American society, President Biden pleaded for national unity and the end of the uncivil war with the slogan 'shun division, embrace unity'. He explained that 'unity' is required in view of the paramount need, which he termed as 'a desperate call for survival coming from the planet earth itself', of countering the challenges of rising political extremism, white supremacy racism, domestic terrorism and the pandemic that caused more damage in one year than the whole of the World War-2 did to America. He declared that he was the President for all Americans including those who did not or still do not support him. The President said, 'democracy is precious, democracy is fragile', but went on optimistically by saying that 'today is democracy's day' and that 'democracy has prevailed'. There was much to heal and more to build, he pleaded.</p><p>The event was not attended by the outgoing President Donald Trump as announced by him a few days back, he became only the fourth President to do so in USA's presidential history, and the first to do so in last more than one hundred and fifty years. However, Trump's Vice President Mike Pence attended the ceremony, and significantly was not around when Trump delivered his farewell speech at an airbase before taking Airforce-1- to fly home to Florida. Trump has also earned the unique distinction of becoming the first ever US President to get impeached twice in the US House. With the Democrats establishing their presence in the Senate their next moves in permanently depriving Trump of all post-presidential privileges would be keenly observed.</p><p>Earlier, Kamala Harris was sworn in as the Vice President of USA, becoming the first ever woman VP, the first ever black person to rise to this post and the first ever person of Asiatic (Indian) origins to assume this privileged office of the country. People of her original village in Tamil Nadu, India celebrated this huge occasion by prayers in the temples and distributing sweets in large gatherings. However, Kamala Harris being a liberal democrat is unlikely to take her India-origins seriously and mix with the people as well as with some of the most aggressively Hindu nationalist governments of the country. More good news comes in the wake of Kamala Harris's rise, in terms of appointing more than 20 Indian-Americans in Biden Administration out of which 17 are in key positions. In fact, Biden had already strengthened his COVID-19 team with quite a few Indian-Americans who had the expertise, and his call of 'set aside politics, fight the pandemic' augurs well for future of a country where around four hundred thousand people have lost their lives so far due to the Coronavirus infections.</p><p>President Joe Biden's mission at the moment is clearly to end the legacy of Trump as soon as possible, and as he said in his speech, to start engaging with the world for peace and democracy. To lead by examples the President got into action on the very first day of his office. He signed around 15 executive orders reversing some of the crucial foreign policies and national security decisions taken by his predecessor Trump. These orders include, significantly, America rejoining the Paris Agreement on climate change, revoking the country's withdrawal from the World Health Organization, making wearing of masks mandatory and rescinding a travel ban imposed on visitors from several Muslim-majority countries.</p><p>The President of the Democrats, basically the cynosure of all democracy-spirited people of the globe, had said in his inauguration speech, 'Together we shall write an American story of hope, not fear, of unity, not division, of light, not darkness. A story of decency and dignity, love and healing and goodness'. We hope Joe Biden succeeds in his mission of making democracy secure and permanent in his country as well as on planet earth. We also hope that this American story would inspire many in several major countries of the globe where democracy has been coming under serious and ever-increasing threat.</p><p>Chinmay Chakravarty is a professional specialized in the creative field with over two decades of experience in journalistic writing, media co-ordination, film script writing, film dubbing, film & video making, management of international film festivals and editing of books & journals.
